Orion Nebula Unveiled by Vista
The Orion Nebula was my first attempt at deep-sky astrophotography and it didn't disappoint, in fact I believe it was the reason behind my obsession, if only all deep sky targets we so bright.
This is a stunning new image from The European Southern Observatory’s new VISTA telescope. The new telescope gathers photons in the near-infrared light allowing them to pass through the dust and dirt we normally see in Orion and other object in the milkyway.
Vista has been in orbit since late last year and we can expect to see more revelling photos from this telescope for years to come.
