IC447

This LRGB data for this image was taken over 3 good nights in January at a dark site location in south central Florida near Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park.

IC 447 is a reflection nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is a cloud of gas and dust that reflects light from nearby stars. The nebula is illuminated by a young and luminous star, HD 53367, which is responsible for its bright appearance. IC 447 is part of the Cassiopeia OB1 association, a group of massive stars that formed together and continue to influence the surrounding interstellar medium through their strong winds and radiation. The study of IC 447 and its association provides insight into the early stages of massive star formation and the impact that these stars have on their surroundings.
