NGC 8307
Despite less than optimal sky conditions, I was able to capture 9 hours of LRGB data over three nights of observation for NGC 8307, a stunning spiral galaxy located about 130 million light-years away in the Hydra constellation. Despite the challenges posed by the less-than-ideal sky conditions, I was determined to capture the intricate details and colors of the galaxy. I chose a dark sky location near Kissimmee Prairie Preserve in South Central Florida to minimize light pollution and maximize the quality of the data I was collecting. After processing the data using PixInsight, I was able to create a respectable image that showcases the structure and beauty of NGC 8307.
